Raising the Next Generation Leaders

Equipping Young Christians for Life and Maturity

Dear Church Leaders,

The world our children and young people are growing up in is radically different from that of previous generations. Cultural pressures, moral confusion, digital distractions, and broken relational patterns are shaping their worldview faster than many churches can respond. If we do not intentionally equip the next generation to grow into mature, spiritually grounded, and life-ready adult Christians, we risk seeing potential leaders, disciples, and change-makers drift into confusion, compromise, or spiritual immaturity.

These books were written with a heart of urgency, yet overflowing with love and hope. The main focus is to guide church leaders and congregations back to God’s ancient blueprint for the Church, restoring the Early Church’s patterns of leadership, prayer, covenant community, and mission. Now, God’s main purpose is to extend this same restoration to our young people, so that they become fully equipped to walk in maturity, purpose, and resilience.

You are therefore invited to consider this comprehensive, Spirit-led approach that integrates the wisdom of the Early Church with the practical needs of young people today. The approach is underpinned by a series of books, some already published, others forthcoming, that together provide a complete discipleship and leadership formation pathway.

Existing Books and Their Contribution to Youth Development

These foundational books provide context, vision, and principles for the Church at large, which naturally inform the next generation:

  • Restoring the ancient legacy of identity and destiny. Who Are You as a Young Christian? Helping youth form confidence, integrity, and a Christ-centred identity. Based on the book of Job and Jeremiah 6:16.

  • Christ in Me: Discipleship Series for New and Existing Members. Offers practical tools for spiritual formation applicable to young believers.
  • Restoring the ancient Legacy of Christian Blessing. Teaches biblical family principles that shape character and identity.
  • Becoming a Man After God’s Own Heart. A portrait of Christlikeness. Offers guidance for personal maturity, courage, and relational integrity. Based on the advice the Apostle Paul gave to Timothy and Titus.
  • Becoming a Woman After God’s Own Heart. From the ordinary to the exceptional. This book offers guidance for personal maturity, courage, and relational integrity. Based on a study of 31 women in the Bible and what teenage girls can learn from them.
  • Barbarian Fire. Redeeming the wild nature of men for the Kingdom of God. Prepares young men for spiritual zeal, purpose, and partnership.
  • Kindling the Barbarian Fire. How Godly Women Help Godly Men to Burn Bright Again. Prepares young women for spiritual zeal, purpose, and partnership.
  • Jesus is My Rehab: Freedom at the Cross. Helps youth experience personal restoration and freedom from past mistakes.
  • The Holy Covenant of Marriage. God’s eternal design from the Father’s House to the Wedding Feast. The World’s Version versus God’s Design
  • In pursuit of holiness. Restoring Biblical Principles of Courting and Dating. Prepares young adults for healthy, covenantal relationships.

Most of these books are available as a Facilitators and Participants Handbook to enable young people to participate in a dialogue during teaching sessions.

These books set the stage for youth-focused discipleship by emphasising biblical foundation, character development, relational maturity, and personal restoration.

May you be strengthened in “Christ in me, the hope of glory”, and may these pages inspire transformation in your heart, your household, and your community. This verse from Colossians 1:27 forms the Biblical foundation of all these books.

Why This Approach Is Urgent

  1. Cultural Pressures Are Increasing: Young people face unprecedented moral, social, and digital pressures. Without intentional training, many drift into compromise.
  2. Maturity Cannot Be Assumed: Spiritual growth requires intentionality, guidance, and practice, not just attending church services and Sunday School classes.
  3. The Church Needs Leaders: Our future elders, teachers, and ministers must be nurtured now to step into adult roles with wisdom, character, and courage.
  4. Preparation for Life is Biblical: Scripture calls us to equip the next generation to walk faithfully, resist temptation, serve others, and impact the world (Deuteronomy 6:6–7, 2 Timothy 2:2).
  5. The worldly cliché starts with the idea that we must walk the walk and talk the talk, but we must turn the tide in the process. Turning the tide is impossible if the next generation of leaders is neglected and not developed for life.

A Call to Church Leaders

We therefore urge you with love and urgency, to:

  • Engage with these resources openly: Set aside preconceived methods and allow God’s Word and Spirit to shape your approach to youth discipleship.
  • Integrate the pathway into your local Church: Use the books to mentor, disciple, and equip youth in structured and Spirit-led ways.
  • Prioritise mentorship and intergenerational learning: Pair young believers with mature leaders to model faith in action.
  • Empower the next generation to take up ownership of their lives: Give them opportunities to serve, lead, and participate in mission.
  • Pray for courage and wisdom: Leading the next generation requires discernment, patience, and reliance on the Holy Spirit.

By intentionally implementing this approach, we can raise a generation of young adults who are mature, spiritually resilient, mission-minded, and prepared to thrive in life and leadership. It is not optional; the Church needs to fulfil her calling in this generation.

Conclusion

The Church stands at a pivotal moment. We can either react to cultural pressures with temporary fixes or intentionally restore the ancient patterns of discipleship, maturity, and mentorship that equip young believers to impact the world for Christ.

You are therefore invited to join this movement with open hearts and renewed vision, using both the existing and new books as tools to raise a generation fully prepared for life, faith, and Kingdom impact.
